Elderly care at home in Málaga

Caring for your loved ones in Málaga,
without them leaving home

When your mother is discharged from hospital, or when she has spent months coping less and less well on her own, the decision cannot wait until next week. Curis Care is a healthcare company: the person who comes into her home is qualified staff on our payroll, not a carer you have to employ yourself.

We cover the city of Málaga with home nursing and elderly care. Before you decide anything, we visit the home, see the situation and give you a written proposal. The assessment costs nothing.

Options

Three ways to arrange care at home

Home care for older people does not work the same way in every household, or even all year round in the same one. At the assessment we tell you which option fits your case.

By the hour

A few hours a day, or several days a week. This usually works when your mother manages the essentials but needs support with washing, meals, medication, or simply company at a particular time of day. It is also the usual way to give a family carer a break.

Night shift

Nights are the first thing to break down. If your father gets up disoriented, if there is a risk of falls, or if someone in the family has spent weeks sleeping with one eye open, the night shift covers those hours and gives everyone their rest back.

Live-in, 24 hours

A professional living in the home, present around the clock. This is the option when the person cannot be left alone at any point in the day, when there is advanced cognitive decline, or when the family lives outside Málaga and needs to know someone is always there.

In all three options the staff are ours, registered and insured. If the person who comes falls ill or has a day off, we arrange the cover.

What sets us apart

When company is not enough: nursing care at home

Many families find out late that what they need is not a carer, but a nurse.

Curis Care provides nursing care in the home with professionals who hold an official degree and are registered with the Spanish nursing board. At home, without moving the person, and in coordination with their doctor:

This is the real difference between Curis Care and a carer agency. If your father comes home from hospital tomorrow with a surgical wound, a drain or an insulin regime, there is no need to look for anyone else or add a separate service.

No payroll, no social security

With us, you do not become an employer

Our competitors devote whole sections to explaining how to be an employer. We take the problem away instead.

If you hire someone yourself

With Curis Care

Our staff undergo background checks and ongoing training.

The most common moment

What happens when you are discharged from a hospital in Málaga

Discharge is the moment when most families call us, and it usually comes at short notice.

We work with the discharge wherever it comes from: Hospital Regional Universitario, Virgen de la Victoria, Hospital Civil, the Maternity and Children’s Hospital, or a private centre such as Quirónsalud, HM Málaga, HM Gálvez, HLA El Ángel or Vithas. What we do is the same in every case:

1

We read the discharge report

And turn it into a concrete care plan for the home.

2

We continue the treatment

Dressings and medication exactly as prescribed, with no gap between hospital and home.

3

We speak to the doctor

Whenever something does not fit or changes, and we put it in writing.

4

We cover the first 48 hours

Which are the ones that frighten families most.

If the person making the decisions lives outside Málaga, we handle that coordination and keep you informed. You do not need to get on a plane to organise the return home.

We do not replace your doctor. We carry out and support the plan they set.

The team

Who comes into your mother's home

It is the question that really worries families, and it deserves a straight answer.

Nicoline Anyu

Registered nurse in Spain with more than fifteen years of experience, specialised in home care. She leads the team.

Leticia Anyu

Administration manager and healthcare coordinator. She organises the shifts and the contact with doctors and hospitals.

The team that comes to your home

Healthcare staff with accredited qualifications: nurses with an official degree and board registration, and certified physiotherapists when the case calls for it. All of them undergo background checks and ongoing training.

We work in Spanish, English, German, French and Russian. For international families on the Costa del Sol this is not a detail: it is the difference between understanding what is happening and making do with a half translation at a difficult moment.

Four steps

How we start

1

You call or write to us

We reply within two hours.

2

We visit and assess

Free and with no obligation. We meet the person, talk to the family and work out what is really needed.

3

We give you a written proposal

With the service, the hours and what is included. No small print.

4

We start

Usually within 24 or 48 hours. If it is urgent, the same day.

If your situation changes, we revise the proposal. Nobody is tied to a plan that has stopped working.

Coverage

We cover the city of Málaga and the whole Costa del Sol

Our base is in Fuengirola, at Calle Miguel Bueno 12, and from there we cover the city of Málaga, Marbella, Torremolinos, Benalmádena, Mijas, Estepona and the rest of the Costa del Sol. We reach most locations in 30 to 45 minutes.

We say it plainly because in this service arrival time matters, and we would rather you knew before calling us than afterwards. You can check every area we cover.

An honest clarification

Private care or Málaga City Council home help

It is worth telling them apart, because they are not the same and many people arrive here looking for the other one.

Council home help (SAD)

This is a public service. You apply for it at Málaga City Council, you must be registered as a resident in the municipality, and it is granted on a points basis, normally tied to a recognised level of dependency. It is the cheaper option, and it has a waiting list.

Curis Care, a private service

We do not manage the regional government allowance and we do not process the council home help application. What we offer is starting in days rather than months, choosing the hours and the type of care, and qualified healthcare staff, which the public service does not always include.

The two can run side by side. Some families have council home help in place and use us for the extra hours or the nursing care the public service does not cover. If you are waiting for a decision, we can bridge the gap.

Frequently asked questions

What families ask us most

It depends on the hours, the type of care and whether nursing is needed. We do not quote a rate over the phone because it would be made up: first we visit the home, assess at no cost and give you a written proposal with everything itemised.

We reply within two hours and, as a rule, the service starts 24 to 48 hours after the assessment. In urgent cases, the same day.

A carer provides company and support with daily life. A care assistant has vocational healthcare training for washing, moving and personal assistance. A nurse holds a university degree and board registration, and is the only one who can dress wounds, give medication and injections and monitor vital signs. Curis Care has all three, depending on what the case needs.

We change them. Getting on together matters as much as the technical side, and forcing it works for nobody. We arrange the replacement, so you do not have to sort anything out.

No. The service is adjusted, extended or stopped as the situation changes.

Yes. We work in Spanish, English, German, French and Russian.

Yes. We cover the city of Málaga and reach most locations in 30 to 45 minutes.

We replace them. The staff are on our payroll, so continuity of service is our responsibility, not yours.

Let us start with the assessment, which costs nothing

We visit the home, see the situation and tell you honestly what is needed. If it turns out you do not need a service like ours, we will tell you that too.
